Bank and Branch Millwork Detailing A retail rollout with two more layers.
A branch is a retail rollout with a security layer and a technology layer inside the joinery. The casework has to be identical across an estate, and it has to accommodate equipment that was specified by someone who never saw the drawing.
What this sector demands
- Estate consistency.
- Branch programmes run across dozens of sites over years. The tenth branch has to match the first, and the people drawing it will not be the people who drew the first.
- Technology and cable provision inside the joinery.
- Terminals, card devices, printers, cash equipment and their cabling all live inside the casework. Routes, access and heat need drawing rather than assuming.
- Security interfaces.
- Where a counter, screen or secure element meets the joinery, the interface is specified by another party and the joinery has to accommodate it exactly.
- Site variation across an estate.
- Branches occupy inherited buildings with different columns, floor levels and frontages. The standard has to absorb that without becoming a bespoke design each time.
Where packages fail here
- Equipment provision added after detailing.
- Cable route or access requirement arriving after the counter was dimensioned, forcing a visible compromise.
- Drift across branch releases.
- The same failure as retail rollout, over a longer programme and with more staff turnover on both sides.
- Security element interfaces assumed.
- Dimensions or fixing requirements taken from a general arrangement rather than from confirmed product data.
- Each branch solving the same site condition independently.
- A recurring column or level change treated as a new problem at every site.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you keep a branch estate consistent over several years?
Your conventions, approved details and part-numbering live in a versioned Standards Record on the account. It is the same record on branch one and branch forty, and it survives staff changes on both sides.
Can you accommodate technology and security equipment we do not control?
Provision is drawn into the carcass to confirmed product data. Where data is unconfirmed, the assumption is stated on the drawing so it gets confirmed before fabrication.
How are site differences handled?
Recurring conditions become documented standard variants rather than one-off solutions. A column that appears in nine branches should be solved once.
Is a branch programme different from a retail rollout?
The consistency problem is the same. The equipment and security interfaces are not, and they are usually where a branch package gets harder.
